The predominantly residential development will consist of two principal buildings; a 24-storey tower and stepped blocks of 20, 17, 14, 11 and eight storeys, linked by a two-storey podium at ground level, creating a cascading effect.

Orchard Wharf will be offering a selection of luxury apartments, duplexes and penthouses for the ambitious owner-occupier or buy-to-let investor. Each apartment will be highly specified and finished & equipped for contemporary London Living. 

The units are currently being marketed off-plan - the anticipated completion date is Q1 2021. Therefore, strict adhesion to the construction programme, early delivery of Stage 4 design and readiness of the invitation to tender façade package are of paramount consequence to the project’s success. 

Tight programme calls for scaffold-less access. FAT’s challenge has been the engineering of a hybrid precast (to achieve the curvature) and unitised façade assembly while adhering to strict planning requirements for masonry look-alike façade. Another challenge has been onerous thermal performance (solid areas 0.18W/m²k and clear glazed areas 1.3W/m²k) with the use of non-combustible materials throughout the wall build-up when the majority of residential units have already been marketed and sold, and therefore internal floor space reduction was out of the question.
